Amsterdam = Vegas of Europe

Oh Amsterdam... As many of you already know Amsterdam is a very interesting city. Centered around women under red lights and stoned out 18 year old boys in coffee shops, Amsterdam is interesting indeed. Our lovely hostel, filled with Jersey kids and young Brits celebrating their birthday, was only 2 blocks from the epicenter of the iconic Amsterdam life. But don't be fooled, we did not indulge in the temptations of the women. Instead we rented bikes and road around the lovely canal streets, snacking on local deli sandwiches, visiting the historic museums and of course laying in the park on the bright and sunny days. On the bike, Amsterdam proved to be a smaller city than the maps seem to indicate.  Our nights were filled with adventure... while devouring some french fries (chips) from one of the many fry stands... we went "women window shopping"... an extremely odd and unnerving practice that most men partake in when the sun goes down. Despite its sinful atmosphere and indulgent demeanor, Amsterdam is above all a city of quaint charms and historic splendor; one immediately feels transported to a different time and place, a different attitude, a new way of thinking, and a progressive approach to life.
