Getting off the plane and Kopenhavn, we quickly realized that there is NOTHING written in English anymore. Buying a metro ticket was quite fun... as was trying to find our train. When we finally arrived at our destination we were greated by the biggest spider in the world, who was so kindly blocking our use of the pay phone that we needed. Luckily we were saved by a freindly passerby who let us use their cell phone. It seems this helpful additute has been everywhere we go.
Ioana - Kori's family friend - was extremely kind and she let stay in her beautiful home for 6 nights. She even gave us our own keys. :-) (Thanks again!) Our days were spent visiting Hamlet's castle, wondering the blooming botanical gardens, experiencing the royal history, enjoying the local culture, eating hot dogs/ice cream, and having laughs while trying to speak the language. While our nights consisted of visiting friends, going to the pubs, drinking Tuborg beer, and playing the Danish dice game Mayer ("Maya").
Copenhagen began to feel like home after only a short time there. It was nice to see old friends and see how a culture, with a 37 hour work week/1 hour paid lunches/5 weeks paid vacation, lived. We were truely awed by the differences and quality of life. The city is also the Greenest city in the world - they recycle everything, bike everywhere and have great water habbits. By the end we did not want to leave.
Copenhagen you are great. We will return someday.
